Built in Boston, Built for Clinical Trials
TrialVyx was founded in Boston in 2023 on a straightforward premise: the patients sponsors need are already in EHR systems — they're just not being found. We built the infrastructure to change that.
Shorten the Distance Between Eligible Patients and Open Trials
More than 80% of clinical trials run behind schedule. The primary bottleneck is patient recruitment — not patient availability. Eligible patients exist in EHR systems today, matched to trials they'll never hear about because the discovery mechanisms are too slow and too manual.
TrialVyx's mission is to close that gap with technology — giving every eligible patient a faster path to a trial that might help them, and every sponsor a faster path to the evidence they need.
Starting with Clinical Informatics
Kevin Nakamura
Co-Founder & CEO
Kevin built TrialVyx after spending 7 years in clinical informatics at a Boston-area academic medical center, where he led the team responsible for EHR data extraction for observational research studies. He saw firsthand how the same data infrastructure that could power enrollment matching was instead being used for retrospective research — while prospective trials struggled to find patients.
"The data was there. The tools to turn it into trial referrals weren't. That seemed fixable," he says of the TrialVyx origin story.
Kevin holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering and an MS in Biomedical Informatics from Boston-area research universities.
At the Center of the Clinical Trial Ecosystem
Greater Boston runs more Phase II and Phase III clinical trials per capita than any other US metro. That proximity to sponsors, CROs, and academic medical centers — from Mass General Brigham to the Longwood corridor — shapes every product decision we make and every customer conversation we have.
Our offices are at 200 State Street, Suite 700, Boston, MA 02109 — in Boston's Financial District, near the convergence of Mass General Brigham's downtown network and steps from the South Station transportation hub that connects to clinical partners across the region.

How We Build and Work
Patient Privacy as a First Principle
TrialVyx is not a patient registry and does not handle PHI. De-identification happens at the EHR integration layer — the matching engine sees only anonymized phenotype profiles. Privacy is a system architecture decision, not a policy document.
Evidence-Led Product Decisions
Every feature in the TrialVyx platform was informed by time spent with research coordinators and clinical operations teams. We validate hypotheses against real-world enrollment data before shipping.
Transparent Results Reporting
We measure outcomes against pre-deployment baselines and share the data openly with sponsors and sites — including cases where our model underperformed expectations.
Coordinator-Centric Design
Research coordinators are our primary users, not CRO executives. Every UI decision starts with the question: does this reduce coordinator workload or increase it?
