TrialVyx was founded in 2023 in Boston by Kevin Nakamura and Priya Mehta — two people with direct CRO pharmacovigilance and signal detection informatics backgrounds who got tired of watching clinically significant multi-drug interactions accumulate undetected in the FAERS record.

Kevin Nakamura

CEO & Co-Founder

Kevin spent seven years building signal detection systems at contract research organizations, supporting post-market safety monitoring for pharmaceutical clients across cardiovascular, oncology, and infectious disease portfolios. The pattern he kept seeing was consistent: by the time the ROR spike appeared in the FAERS data, the clinical team was already reacting to an adverse event cluster that had been accumulating in the record for twelve to eighteen months. The detection was always retrospective. The window for early action had already closed.

The question that led to TrialVyx wasn't "can we make ROR faster?" ROR doesn't have a speed problem — it has a structural problem. It examines drug pairs in isolation. In polypharmacy regimens, the adverse event signal belongs to the combination, not to any individual agent. Pairwise analysis will never surface a triad signal because the triad doesn't exist in its data model.

Kevin began building a graph-based detection model in 2022, working evenings while completing a consulting engagement for a mid-size specialty pharma company's PV department. Priya Mehta — who had been working on biological network analysis before moving into pharmacovigilance informatics — joined as co-founder and CTO. The model produced its first early detection results against a historical FAERS validation corpus in early 2023. TrialVyx, Inc. was incorporated in Boston that spring.

Diane Okonkwo — Head of Customer Success

Former CRO pharmacovigilance lead with hands-on experience managing signal triage for pharma clients across multiple therapeutic areas. Leads onboarding, workflow configuration, and ongoing PV science support for all TrialVyx customers.

Drug interactions don't announce themselves. We built a system that finds them first.

TrialVyx's approach is methodological, not incremental. We didn't build a faster version of existing disproportionality tools. We built a different analytical framework — one that treats post-market drug safety as a graph problem, not a statistical threshold problem. The result is earlier detection and more complete coverage of the multi-drug interaction signal space that ROR and PRR cannot reach.

What TrialVyx is not: We are not a replacement for your pharmacovigilance system master file process, your aggregate report authoring, or your regulatory submissions workflow. We do not replace Oracle Argus, Veeva Vault Safety, or ARISg — we feed structured, MedDRA-coded signal data into whatever safety management system your team already uses. We are a signal detection and triage layer, not a full PV platform. If you need a case management system, we are not that.

Boston — the right city for this work

TrialVyx is headquartered in Boston's Financial District, within the life sciences corridor that runs from the Seaport through Kendall Square. Boston is where the largest concentration of CROs, specialty pharma companies, and regulatory science talent operates in the US — the same ecosystem where Kevin and the team built their pharmacovigilance experience before founding the company.

Several of the PV teams we work with have Boston-area operations. The short feedback loop between our team and working pharmacovigilance scientists matters: product decisions get tested against real PSMF workflows, not theoretical ones.
